Hi there

thanks for stopping by the blog. I’d heard about how protective Paris stores are about people not taking photos – I was very nervous! I’m glad I got a few pics (but I didn’t dare try La Droguerie though!)

I went to a stunning button shop in NYC a few weeks ago, and I really wish I was brave enough to ask to take a photo – it was the memory of scary Paris stores that put me off!

Oh my gosh. I was nearly run out of town on a rail when I asked about taking a photo of buttons at le Bon Marche! It was the one rude moment I encountered in my 2007 trip (10 days). I learned my lesson, but still was pleased to see the photos you were able to sneak as I thought the display so colorful. I will be returning to Paris for 15 days shortly and will definitely check out a couple of your additions although a husband along this time may be somewhat limiting. This time I am taking a knitting project with me, one of the sweaters from my 2007 yarn purchase at la La Droguerie! Thank you for sharing.

I just finished a pair of socks I started a year ago, and the last 3 inches of the second sock (where I stopped and left it in hibernation) is so different to the rest that I convinced myself I must have changed needles. I hadn’t, because they were circs and I don’t do that.

Oh dear, I don’t know what’s happened there. I wonder if you’ve followed the pattern differently to how its intended, or whether finishing on a different row of the pattern can make it seem wider (not that that would account for the other excess fabric). Could you take a photo of the other sleeve flat and email me direct with it so I can see if I can help you figure it out.

I have to agree – go with b, and re-do. Imagine yourself in a not too distant future happily wearing the perfect jumper, and everyone oooohing and ahhhhing over how beautiful it is. By the way, in the photo it looks absolutely gorgeous!

Although painful, option B is the way to go. It will be worth it. I’ve done options A and C before, and they really weren’t very satisfactory after the fact.
